Below, you will find an excerpt from The Art Bridge magazine’s from India and United Arab Emirates – the 6th Edition, released in February 2025, featuring my latest artworks. The material is titled “Simplicity in Abstraction Ania Luk”, can be accessed in its entirety at Artiste Culture.

In 2024, Ania Luk unveiled a series of seven acrylic-on-canvas works, including Transatlantic, Inarticulate, Respite and Respite II, as well as Puzzle, Puzzle II, and Puzzle III. Her creations epitomise a harmonious fusion of figurative elements, geometric abstraction, and meticulous aesthetics. Geometry introduces peace and order amidst chaos, while abstraction complements it, enabling Luk to disrupt proportions deliberately and evoke profound emotions. A central theme in her work is the female form, reimagined as an abstract interplay of elegant and decorative shapes.

In her recent works, Luk explores the human body as a metaphysical form, simplifying it into geometric structures and ornamental lines. This approach reflects universal truths about existence, as she views the body not as a representation of a specific model but as a vessel for deeper metaphysical meaning. Faces, often schematic or obscured, resemble masks that emphasise the abstract quality of her compositions. Characters become integral to the artwork’s rhythm, blending seamlessly into the background and forming a visual ornament.
